One morning back in 2020, in the middle of the pandemic, I woke up with a very complex to do list and absolutely no time. Among my tasks, I needed to setup an open innovation program, start the VC activity, deliver insights about startups situation to gov agencies & find a solution to maintain accelerated entrepreneurs synergies during the lockdown.
As a former software engineer my natural instinct was to look for a digital tool that could help me achieve that. Well didn’t find it.
So as an entrepreneur, I’ve decided to build it. The same day StartupSquare was born as my more recent venture with a dedicated team.
Today, StartupSquare is an integrated platform we use all day and everyday to automate processes, build our programs, follow-up our VC pipelines, collect, – data & produce unique insights. In a word, it’s a unique place digitizing innovation processes & analytics where corporates, investors and entrepreneurs connect, network & build tomorrow’s solutions together.
I often say that best startups are those solving a problem the founder is facing. Because they have a costumer on day one.
Not only didn’t I pursue my tasks that morning, I preferred spending my time building an MVP answering those needs. But that day defined what I consider today to be a real innovation accelerator, an opportunity builder & a tech launchpad for Africa.
